This site celebrates the life of Alan 'Tarpy' Layton. Born in Kyogle, New South Wales on 22nd February 1930, died 11 August 1986 in Ballina, New South Wales, Australia.

Alan was tremendously inspired by Roger. I think they were great mates at the 'Star' and Alan followed Roger's exploits in all the world's trouble spots.
